Tubing

Tube is not pipe; pipe is typically measured and sized by ID (inside diameter) while tube is measured and sized by OD (outside diameter).

Medium and high pressure tubing can be found in sizes ¼” to 1” (medium pressure can be up to 1 ½”) OD and has a much thicker wall than low pressure tubing.

Medium and high pressure tubing must be Cold-Drawn, annealed Seamless Tubing manufactured to ASTM 269.

Small bore tubing (SBT) systems are often thought of as simple systems that are lo-tech and non-complex, but this is untrue.
